QMUL's first Festival of Ideas a great success

On Thursday 29 June, over 250 staff attended the pilot Festival of Ideas. The festival took staff on a journey of fun, imagination and discovery, learning about the exciting and diverse research undertaken here at QMUL – all made possible by Laura Gibbs, Chief Operating Officer.

The response from attendees was very positive, with staff saying that they found the festival stimulating, inspiring and informative. Professor Bill Spence, Vice-Principal (Research), said: “I am delighted to have supported the new QMUL Festival of Ideas. It provided an opportunity to find out directly from our researchers what is happening at the forefront of knowledge. It gave those who attended a chance to see the level of imagination and creativity, as well as sheer persistence that can be required to discover or create anything genuinely new and interesting. These discoveries enrich our knowledge and our lives, and their applications often have an impact worldwide.”

The Events and Ceremonies team are keen to hear your feedback on the festival. Please take few minutes to complete the Festival of Ideas survey.
